Importing external payment data to Netvisor
You can import payment data from an external system to Netvisor through the API. Netvisor then sends the payments to the bank through its bank connection. Import the data in the XML format described in the Netvisor documentation. For details, see the description of each resource.
Choose the resource based on what you import:
Salary payments:
payrollexternalsalarypayment.nvOther bank transfers, also with a reference number:
payment.nvVouchers for bookkeeping:
accounting.nv
Import external salary payment data payrollexternalsalarypayment.nv
If salaries are calculated in another system but you want to pay them from Netvisor, import the external salary payment data to Netvisor.
The external salary payment data goes directly to the salary payment view, in Pay > Pay salaries, under External payments.
If the payment needs a reference number, for example for trade union fee remittances, use the payment.nv resource described below instead.
Import bank transfer payment.nv
Use the payment.nv resource to import other external bank transfers that you pay from Netvisor. The bank transfers appear in Purchases > Open and paid bank transfers, where you can send them for payment. This resource also lets you give a reference number.
How bank transfers are processed
Banks process bank transfers in the same way as purchase invoice payments. The bank charges the company's account on the due date of the bank transfer.
When the payment file is sent from Netvisor to the bank, the bank transfer moves under the In payment service heading in the Open and paid bank transfers view.
When the bank statement for the due date arrives in Netvisor, the payment feedback on the bank statement marks the bank transfer as Paid.
The bank transfer moves under the Paid heading.
Netvisor does not create a bookkeeping voucher for the bank transfer automatically. Create the voucher manually in the bank statement editing view, or create a new voucher. You can also import the voucher through the API, as described below.
For more information on processing bank statements, see Processing of bank statements.
Posting rules
You can also use posting rules to process the bank transfers on the bank statement. With posting rules, you can post many payments to the selected bookkeeping account at once. Check with your accountant that posting rules are suitable in your case.
Import accounting data accounting.nv
You can also import the bookkeeping voucher through the API with the accounting.nv resource.
You can link vouchers imported through the API to a bank statement in Netvisor. Note the following:
The voucher must already exist in Netvisor when you start linking it.
The date of the voucher must match the date of the payment on the bank statement.
You cannot link a voucher to a bank statement through the API. You must always do it manually in Netvisor.
If no bank statement arrives in Netvisor at all, you cannot and do not need to link the voucher to a bank statement. In that case, only import the bookkeeping voucher for the bank transfer.
